Lifting
Is there anything to avoid before a lifting treatment?
Once the appointment is booked, it is natural to feel vaguely worried about what to do and what not to do beforehand. You may even hesitate to ask about every detail, from tanning and exfoliation to the medications you take.
Preparation before treatment depends on the type of treatment and your individual condition, so there is no single fixed answer. Here we have gathered the items that are generally advised, and the information that is good to share at the consultation.
What information should I share at the consultation?
What we need first is accurate information about your current condition. Please tell us about the medications and dietary supplements you take, any conditions you have or have had, whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, any history of allergies, and any treatments you have had before. This helps in deciding whether and how the treatment can be done.
Your skin condition matters too. Please let us know in advance if there is inflammation or a wound in the treatment area, a sun-tanned area, or if you have repeatedly had blisters around the lips. The schedule or method may need to be adjusted.
What should I be careful about in daily life before treatment?
The table below sets out the items that are generally advised, for reference. They vary with the type of treatment and your condition, so the instructions you received when booking come first.
| Item | General guidance for reference |
|---|---|
| Sun tan | Reduce sun exposure before and after treatment, and if you are tanned, let us know at the consultation |
| Exfoliation and strong functional products | These may make the skin sensitive, so check at the consultation whether you have been using them before treatment |
| Other recent treatments | If you have had any, check the interval at the consultation |
| Alcohol and saunas | Adjust activities that raise body temperature according to the instructions |
| Makeup on the day | Your face is often washed before treatment, so it is easier to come with light makeup |
What should I do on the day of treatment?
On the day, we check your skin condition again and then decide on the treatment area and method. If your skin is red, stinging, or inflamed, unlike usual, please tell us before treatment. It may be better to postpone.
If you have plans after the treatment (work, appointments, travel), please mention them when booking. This helps in planning with recovery time in mind.
Frequently asked questions
Q. Can I drink alcohol the day before treatment?
A. Alcohol can affect body heat and swelling, so in some cases you are advised to limit it before and after treatment. It varies by type of treatment, so please check the instructions you received when booking.
Q. I take medication regularly. Should I mention it?
A. It is good to tell us. Some medications and dietary supplements may affect the treatment plan, so giving us their names and how long you have taken them helps at the consultation.
Q. Can I have treatment if I have a cold or feel run down?
A. When you are not feeling well, it can affect recovery, so in some cases we discuss adjusting the schedule. Please tell us honestly how you feel on the day.
